In April, Barbara Kloss, our company’s International Moving Coordinator, had the opportunity to participate in an exchange in Brazil through the LACMANext Exchange Program.

During her visit to Metropolitan Transports’ headquarters, Bárbara Kloss had an enriching experience both personally and professionally.

One of the aspects that Barbara highlighted most about her experience was the warmth and hospitality of her Brazilian colleagues. She described the Metropolitan team as a big family, where each member works with a strong sense of trust and autonomy. This work environment not only made her feel welcome, but also allowed her to integrate and learn in depth about the dynamics of the company.

As for the lessons learned, Barbara highlighted the implementation of weekly reports to monitor the status of moves, a practice she considers valuable and plans to apply in Argentina. This systematic approach helps to maintain constant monitoring of processes, allowing opportunities for improvement to be identified on an ongoing basis.

During the exchange, Barbara focused mainly on the coordination area, accompanied by Jessica, a coordinator from Metropolitan who, in addition to guiding her through the process, offered valuable Portuguese lessons. Barbara was impressed by the similarities in the moving processes between Argentina and Brazil and expressed her interest in finding ways to collaborate to make moving between the two countries more efficient.

In addition to the activities at the office, Barbara had the opportunity to visit the bonded warehouse and take a private tour of the port, which gave her a better understanding of the logistics process in a real context. She was also inspired by the creativity of the Metropolitan team, who showed her pieces of art made from recycled container parts, an initiative she found admirable.

The experience at Metropolitan Transports left a positive imprint on Barbara, not only because of the knowledge acquired, but also because of the sense of belonging she experienced. “It really was a pleasure,” she concluded, reaffirming her gratitude towards the team that welcomed her and the richness of the exchange.
